AI models may soon self-replicate without access to data centers, Anthropic warns
A recent study by Anthropic highlights the alarming potential for small AI models to self-replicate on insecure IoT devices. Their research shows that models containing under 30 billion parameters can replicate, albeit facing difficulties with ongoing reproduction.
